Many of the main attractions are in the old and New Towns which are really quite compact, as Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, National Museum of Scotland are all within a half mile to mile of each other so can easily be visited on foot once you’ve been dropped off. Some attractions are further afield; for groups interested in a nature fix Arthur’s Seat is approx 1.5 miles SE of the centre and Edinburgh Zoo approx 4 miles west. If you are visiting the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith it’s around 3 miles NE.Please note: we have tried to indicate drop off points for minibuses on our maps; because of restricted vehicle access to many of Edinburgh’s beautiful, historic, cobbled streets it’s not always possible to drop groups exactly where they need to be. These designated drop off points should however limit travelling time as they are all around the perimeters of the city centre.
